Boutique Leh stays, Pangong luxury camps, Nubra dune drives and monastery circuits — sequenced properly for acclimatisation, safety and the best light.
Share a few details so we can recommend the right destination and resort.
Destination Overview
Ladakh — administered from Leh at 3,500 m — is India's high-altitude desert: monasteries carved into cliffs, cobalt-blue high lakes, sand dunes at 10,000 ft and passes above 5,000 m.
The classic Ladakh trip runs May–September when road passes are open, flights are stable, and Pangong, Nubra and Tso Moriri are all accessible.
Because Leh sits at 3,500 m, itineraries must include 36–48 hours of acclimatisation before any high-pass day — we build this in by default.
We plan Ladakh as fly-in/fly-out 6–8 night luxury circuits with premium tented camps at Pangong or Nubra, and as longer overland trips from Manali or Srinagar for experienced travellers.

Why Visit
Four reasons this destination keeps drawing our travellers back.
The Karakoram-Zanskar-Himalaya intersection produces terrain that genuinely looks like another planet.
Thiksey, Hemis, Diskit, Lamayuru and Alchi — 800–1000-year-old living monasteries with morning prayer rituals open to visitors.
Khardung La, Chang La, Wari La and Tanglang La — four of the world's highest motorable passes on one circuit.
Nubra and Pangong now have well-run luxury camps with proper beds, hot water and oxygen support — a huge upgrade from a decade ago.
Best Time to Visit
May – September
Passes open, camps operational, 15–25 °C days. June–August is warmest but also busiest — May and September are our favourite windows.
April & October
Fewer travellers, cooler nights (below zero), some passes may close briefly with snow. Beautiful light for photography.
November – March
Leh only — most passes and lakes are closed. For the Chadar frozen-river trek and monastery festivals, plan a specialist trip.
Top Attractions
The landmarks and experiences we build every itinerary around.
134 km cobalt-blue high-altitude lake at 4,350 m — overnight in a luxury camp on the near shore for sunrise reflections.
Reached over Khardung La — twin-humped Bactrian camels on sand dunes, Diskit Monastery's 32 m Maitreya Buddha.
Thiksey's 12-storey monastery at dawn prayer and Hemis (Ladakh's largest) with June's masked-dance festival.
9-storey former royal palace overlooking the old town, plus the white-domed Shanti Stupa sunset.
Quieter, higher (4,522 m) alpine lake for travellers wanting to skip Pangong crowds.
Lunar-landscape monastery at Lamayuru and Ladakh's oldest surviving murals at Alchi — a full-day western circuit.
Suggested Itinerary
Our most-recommended pace. We tailor days, meal plans and add-ons to your travel style.
Fly Delhi–Leh, check-in, full rest. No exertion, hydration only. Optional Shanti Stupa sunset if energy allows.
Slow monastery half-day (Thiksey + Shey), Leh Palace and old town walk. Second full-rest evening.
Drive over Khardung La (5,359 m), descend to Hunder — Bactrian-camel dunes at sunset, night at Nubra camp.
Scenic Shyok-river route to Pangong Tso, sunset at the lake, luxury tented camp overnight.
Dawn reflections at Pangong, drive back to Leh via Chang La (5,360 m), afternoon spa and rest.
Early morning Delhi-bound flight.

Travel Tips
Practical, locally-informed advice we give every traveller before departure.
Fly in, do not attempt to skip the 36–48 hour Leh acclimatisation window — altitude sickness is the single most common trip-ruiner.
Carry Diamox on doctor's advice; keep drinking 3–4 L water daily and avoid alcohol on arrival day.
ATMs work in Leh but not beyond — carry ₹25,000–₹40,000 cash for Nubra/Pangong.
Inner Line Permits are required for Nubra, Pangong and Tso Moriri; we arrange them in advance.
Mobile network — only postpaid Jio/Airtel/BSNL work in Ladakh. Prepaid SIMs from other states do not.
